The decision to euthanize a beloved pet is often one of the most difficult ones an owner can make. Compassion 4 Paws is here to make the process a little bit easier. Since 2013, we have helped over 9000 pet parents respectfully and gracefully say goodbye to a part of their family in the comfort of their home.

Service Areas
We provide in-home euthanasia services in an area that extends north to Marysville and south to Tukwila. Including North Seattle, Lynnwood, Edmonds, Kenmore, Bothell, Wallingford, Ballard, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo and Seattle. We also service the Eastside including Redmond, Woodinville, Bellevue, and Issaquah. *Unfortunately, we are not traveling to West Seattle at this time*
How do I know it is time?
One of the most frequent statements we hear from clients is that they do not want their pet to suffer or be in pain. Suffering may take many different forms: physical pain, immobility, respiratory distress, or uncontrolled anxiety. What constitutes “suffering” for one pet, may in fact be a manageable condition for another.
Our doctors are here to help families assess the quality of life of their pets. We offer in-home QUALITY OF LIFE CONSULTATIONS to help owners assess their pet’s physical condition and overall quality of life. Sometimes it is determined that a pet may benefit from additional pain management care or even pet hospice. Or, it may be realized that the kindest choice is to say good-bye to their beloved pet.
If you determine that euthanasia is the right choice for your pet, one of our doctors will perform the in-home euthanasia with compassion so your pet may transition with love and dignity.
What Happens Afterwards?
After euthanasia, there are several options for after-care. We can provide transportation of the pet and coordinate cremation services, should this be desired. We offer two cremation services.
The first is a non-private or communal cremation where the pet is cremated with other animals. No ashes are returned to the family – the remains are collectively scattered into the Puget Sound in an official Coast Guard burial at sea. If the family wishes, their pet may have a private cremation where the pet is cremated alone, by themself. The remains are returned in a wooden urn with a nameplate engraved with your loved one’s name and will be hand delivered back to your pet’s regular veterinarian’s office by a dedicated crematorium team member for you to pick up when it is convenient for your family.
The third option for an owner is self-directed after-care. An owner may choose to bury their pet (after checking local ordinances) or transport the body themselves for a cremation to either their regular veterinarian or a local crematorium. We also offer to make a complimentary clay paw print, regardless of the after-care selection.
